The Vital Role of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) stands as a key contributor to the development of the EV charging network in Dubai. The authority has launched the "Green Charger" initiative for electric vehicles, providing over 380 charging stations scattered across various parts of the emirate. Collectively, these stations can serve more than 700 electric vehicles simultaneously. Users of the "Green Charger" stations can complete all stages of charging their vehicles by following the steps on their mobile devices, simply by scanning the available Quick Response (QR) code at the charging station. DEWA is diligently striving to explore and adopt the latest sustainable mobility technologies and enhance the electric vehicle sector.
Types of Electric Vehicle Chargers in Dubai
Several types of EV charging stations are available in Dubai, differing in charging speed and compatibility with various types of vehicles

Wall Charger: Takes several hours to complete the charging process. (22 kilowatts AC, with a single Type 2 socket)

Public Charging Station: Charging time varies from one hour to several hours. (2 × 22 kilowatts AC, with a dual Type 2 socket)

Fast Charger: Can charge electric vehicles up to 80% in minutes. (43 kilowatts AC, with a Type 2 socket, and 50 kilowatts DC from ChadeMO type sockets and dual CCS type sockets)
