Steps to Renew Your Dubai Driving License in Under 10 Minutes
Before you start the renewal process, ensure you have the necessary accounts set up for a seamless experience. You'll need a UAE Pass account and an RTA account. Here's how to create them:
Step 1: Setting Up a UAE Pass Account
A UAE Pass account is essential for various government services in the UAE. Follow these steps to set it up:

Download the UAE Pass app from the Android or Apple Store.

Open the app and tap on ‘Login/Register.’

Log in using your UAE Pass credentials.

If your UAE Pass and RTA accounts are not linked, follow the instructions to link them.

If you don’t have an RTA account, select ‘Register.’

Your basic details will be automatically filled in by the UAE Pass app. Verify the information and create a username and password.

Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile number via SMS.
Step 2: Complete Your Eye Test
Visit a nearby RTA-approved eye testing center. These centers are easily identifiable and usually display information about their services prominently. Don't forget to bring your original UAE driving license and Emirates ID.
If you prefer digital versions, inquire whether they accept them. The eye test typically costs around AED 140, but prices may vary.
Once the test is done, the specialist will update the RTA system with the results. You'll receive an SMS confirming the update from RTA Dubai.
Step 3: Apply for License Renewal Online
Open the RTA Dubai app (available on Android or iOS) or the RTA website and select ‘Apply for Renewing a Driving License’. Enter your license details, issue date, traffic code number, and date of birth. Then tap ‘Next’.
